The Straw: Modern Milkshakes, an acclaimed West Coast brand known for its creative milkshake concoctions and vibrant social atmosphere, invites entrepreneurs to join its franchise program. The Straw will initially focus on West Coast expansion. The brand is setting its sights on markets like Nevada, Arizona, and California, bringing its award-winning shakes to new audiences.

Since opening in 2017, The Straw has gained a devoted following with its inventive flavors, nostalgic 1950s diner-inspired vibe, and immersive events. Now, founder Patrick Nguyen is inviting aspiring franchisees to become part of a growing trend that redefines milkshakes as both a culinary indulgence and an art form.

From Classic Treat to Edible Art: The Evolution of the Milkshake

Milkshakes first appeared in the late 19th century as a humble drink made with ice cream, milk, and flavoring. By the mid-20th century, they became a staple of soda fountains and diners, associated with carefree social gatherings and youthful exuberance. But in recent years, milkshakes have transcended their simple roots, becoming a platform for culinary creativity and over-the-top decadence.

Brands like The Straw are at the forefront of this evolution, blending classic flavors with unexpected ingredients and Instagram-worthy presentation. Signature items are the Cookies and Cream Milkshake, topped with house-made edible cookie dough. Or try out the Donkey Kong Milkshake, featuring fresh bananas, cookie butter, and a cannoli shell for dipping. Adding a contemporary and adult twist, The Straw offers the option to spike milkshakes with spirits or beer.

Creating a Community Hub, One Shake at a Time

The Straw is more than a milkshake parlor; it’s a cultural destination. By hosting karaoke nights, art paint events, and live music, the brand has turned its stores into local hubs of connection and creativity. “Our innovative milkshake menu, combined with live music and exciting events, helps build an unforgettable experience,” Nguyen shared.

The franchise’s strong community appeal and indulgent offerings reflect a broader trend in the food industry, where traditional desserts are reimagined as artistic, interactive experiences.

For entrepreneurs, The Straw offers a chance to join this growing movement, with a franchise model designed for ease and profitability. Nguyen explains,

I’ve crafted a menu and system that eliminates guesswork and minimizes costs to maximize profits. I’ve done the hard work so future franchisees don’t have to. Our model is built for success, with low overhead and high profit margins, which has created strong customer loyalty and brand recognition.”

    Join the Milkshake Revolution

As milkshakes continue their journey from simple nostalgia to edible artistry, The Straw is inviting “ice cream-preneurs” to bring this concept to new communities. With its blend of creativity, nostalgia, and profitability, the franchise is poised to shake up the fast-casual dining industry.
