If you follow skateboarding you have probably heard of Jagger Eaton. If you have not; check out his Instagram. There you can find Jagger displaying his Olympic medal in skateboarding, nailing some sweet street tricks and interviewing other legends like Tony Hawk.
The Olympics are top of mind today as the Paris games continue to unfold. Parents are sitting down with their children at night and watching the highlights together and bonding over sport. However, also on their minds is what’s right around the corner; back to school. When you discuss school it strikes a cord with Jagger. In his early years he always had a passion for skateboarding. As he practiced he became better and better. Balancing a love for skateboard and school work became a challenge though. Jagger self described himself as “slower learner and avid skateboarder with a dream”. Aside from tightening the trucks on his board and apply fresh grip tape Jagger found another tool. Well more a place where he could go and improve his academic skills just as he improved his skateboarding skills.
Mathnasium
What Jagger discovered was Mathnasium learning centers. Mathnasium is a math-only supplemental education franchise. “Mathnasium provided me a safe and comfortable learning environment to build my math skills from the ground up. They worked with my intense schedule, and helped to boost my confidence both at the skatepark and at the desk,” stated Eaton. “My Mathnasium instructors taught me that triumphs can be as small as landing a new trick to as big as winning a gold medal, and that all victories should be celebrated, both academic, and in life.” Jagger’s experience with Mathnasium and desire to pay it forward sparked the idea for a partnership.
Ace Your Dreams
Together, Mathnasium and Jagger Eaton launched its first ever ‘Ace Your Dreams’ scholarship opportunity. This contest will run until the end of the week where one winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship to Mathnasium, signed skateboard, and a personal message from Jagger.
“We are committed to encouraging our youth to value their accomplishments, no matter the magnitude, because we understand how crucial it is for nurturing confidence, motivation, and inspiration,” stated Michael Stanfield, Chief Marketing Officer of Mathnasium. “At Mathnasium, we firmly believe there is no limit to what can be achieved. Partnering with Jagger Eaton to launch this scholarship enables us to empower students nationwide, providing them with a platform to proudly showcase their unique moments of success.”
Whether its a kick-flip in the local park or a good grade on the next exam the partnership showcases the uniqueness of everyone’s journey and fosters the ability for others to share their own A+ moments, identify when they might need help, and embrace support.
