For years, McDonald’s fans in the United States have been clamoring for the Chicken Big Mac, a twist on the classic Big Mac that has delighted taste buds around the globe. Now, the wait is over! Starting October 10th, the Chicken Big Mac will make its debut at participating U.S. McDonald’s locations, but only while supplies last.

The Chicken Big Mac takes the signature layers of the iconic Big Mac—special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and a sesame seed bun—and replaces the classic beef patties with two tempura-battered chicken patties. The result? A familiar yet novel spin on the fan-favorite that’s been a staple since its 1968 launch.

A Taste that Delivers More Than Just a Sandwich

McDonald’s is hoping the Chicken Big Mac will capture the hearts of both long-time Big Mac lovers and new fans. “With the introduction of the Chicken Big Mac, we’re excited to pay homage to one of our most iconic menu items, the Big Mac, and introduce it to a whole new generation of fans,” said Tariq Hassan, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at McDonald’s USA. “By tapping into some of our fans’ biggest passions from dupe culture to live-streaming, we’re able to serve up more than just a sandwich. There truly is something for everyone to enjoy in this campaign and we’re bringing experiences that will surprise and delight them, all before the Chicken Big Mac hits restaurants.”

    Creating The Buzz

A Sneaky LA Pop-Up Creates Buzz

Before the official release, McDonald’s leaned into the hype by orchestrating a secret pop-up event in Los Angeles. The pop-up, under the playful guise of “McDonnell’s,” offered a limited-time menu featuring “The Chicken Sandwich,” which bore a striking resemblance to the soon-to-be-released Chicken Big Mac. Alongside the sandwich, fans indulged in nostalgic items like beef tallow fries, deep-fried apple pie, and soft-serve, adding to the excitement. When the truth came out—that McDonald’s was behind the mysterious pop-up—the buzz only grew louder.

Is It Really a Big Mac? Let’s Ask the Fans

To keep the excitement going, McDonald’s has enlisted popular internet personality and Big Mac superfan Kai Cenat. Throughout October, Cenat will welcome some of his well-known friends to try the Chicken Big Mac live on his stream, sharing their unfiltered reactions. Fans are invited to follow McDonald’s social channels to catch all the reactions and join the debate over whether the Chicken Big Mac is, indeed, a Big Mac.

    A Limited-Time Offer That Won’t Last Long

With fans eager to try the new addition, McDonald’s expects demand to be high, making the Chicken Big Mac a hot commodity while it’s available. This just adds more special sauce to the buzz factor. As the release date approaches, anticipation is reaching a fever pitch, with many eager to find out whether the Chicken Big Mac lives up to the legacy of its beefy predecessor. So, mark your calendars for October 10 and visit your nearest McDonald’s to decide if this twist on a classic is the real deal.

McDonald’s has a history of catering to the ever-changing tastes of its fans while staying true to its core menu, and this release aims to do just that. With nearly 13,500 U.S. locations, most of which are independently owned, the fast-food giant continues to bring innovation and excitement to customers across the country.
